Fossane gard
overnatting i sjarmfulle gardshus
We recently spent a few days in Fossane, Norway. And what a beautiful experience that was! We stayed in a beautiful wooden house that immediately took us back in time. The decor was cozy and charming. But the house was also equipped with all modern conveniences. The comfortable bed and the cozy atmosphere made it perfect. As icing on the cake, the Christmas tree was already ready, which gave the house something extra to our stay.
The accommodation is run by a very nice and hospitable couple. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and even given a tour of their land and a look at the nearby power station. A very nice addition to our stay.
The location itself is simply very beautiful. The view from the house is beautiful, and the area offers numerous opportunities for hikes. Thanks to the help of our hosts, we were able to choose the best routes, which gave us the opportunity to fully enjoy the amazing Norwegian nature.
These days in Fossane were exactly what we needed: peace, beauty and adventure all in one. If you are looking for a place where you can fully recharge and get lost in the beautiful nature of Norway, then I would definitely take a look at Fosanne.
We were here in February, there is a lot to do here, even out of season. We explored Norwegian nature on snowshoes, took a hike to the high-altitude mountain hut where we spent the night and were completely on our own, far from civilization. We even spotted wild deer there.
An adventure in itself was our cold dip in the mountain lake. We are still proud that we did that. We have also been on the long slopes.
What we really enjoyed was the opportunity to make a Norwegian dish. We opted for the stew with deer meat, sourced from local game. Extremely tasty!
At Fossanegard we disconnected from our busy lives. The owners were incredibly helpful, they passionately convey their vision for ecotourism and take you into the traditions of the farm and the surrounding area.
In short, a holiday at Fossanegard is highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Norwegian nature experience, even out of season.
When we did go up, they were amazing hosts that made us feel welcome and at home from the moment we arrived.
I would 100% recommend, it's in a beautiful location and the cabins are beautiful, rustic and with character.
The location is magnificent: right next to a waterfall, a few minutes from a lake where you can canoe with the boat of Fossane Gard. Beautiful hiking trails are nearby.
The owners are very friendly and have great tips to explore the environment.
We had a splendid week at Fossane Gard!
The house we stayed in was authentic and very atmospheric. The cottage was fully equipped, a beautiful bathroom with washing machine, and there was a dishwasher in the cozy kitchen. The house breathed tranquility and from every window you were surprised by a beautiful panorama. The environment is breathtaking. You can walk various beautiful routes from the house and enjoy beautiful views. The owners know the area well and gave us good tips about the sights in the area. Highly recommended for people who love peace and nature!
Could not have asked for a better time.
