Fossane is a farm beautifully situated between the mountains in Ryfylke on the south-west coast of Norway. We have three unique traditional Norwegian cabins for rent: houses which are 100 years old with original wooden walls and the old atmosphere. All the cabins have showers and a toilet and a fully equipped kitchen. Some furniture is as old as the cabins. Here at Fossane, charm and comfort come together.
We have a lot of fishing possibilities here. You can hike to our mountain cabin Subbeliå or take a boat trip with our rowing boat or Canadian canoe in the Giskeli Lake. In the river Tøtlandsåna there are a lot of swimming possibilities with its waterfalls, rocks and tubs. We like to say that we have an outdoor waterpark in the river. We have sheep at the farm so you can get a sense of rural life.
The nature you find in Ryfylke, mirrors the nature of Norway. You find it all, from steep mountain sides to green fields, from wild rivers to clear waters, from deep fjords to groups of islands. The area has a lot to offer: Skomakernibbå, Ritlandskrateret, Trodla Tysdal, the National Turistroad Ryfylke Rv13, the Fairytale woods and Preikestolen are some examples.
Here at Fossane you get water from our own well. The electricity that you use is sustainable from our own hydro powerplant, and the wood you use for the fireplace is from our own forest. You cannot get closer to nature!
The farm is situated in the village Vormedalen, 20 km from the county centre of Hjelmeland. It is one and a half hours away from the city of Stavanger.
